Both in and out of the shops, around the robots, and in the pits, safety is a priority for Team 3197.  Safety is important for everything, especially when we are working with powerful pieces of equipment.  We strive to keep our teammates safe while having fun and getting work done.

We have a constantly evolving safety program that functions for the needs of our team.  Team 3197 is working towards having levels of safety certification:

• Level 1 – Passed general safety knows how to conduct themselves while in the lab area.
• Level 2 – Has passed select safety tests for machines in the lab area.  Still needs mentor assistance to operate.
• Level 3 – Has passed all machine safety tests in the lab area. Still needs mentor assistance.
• Level 4 – Has passed all machine safety tests and has demonstrated the ability to operate machines in the lab area.  Can operate machines without mentor assistance.
