About Team 3197

We Are the HexHounds
Team 3197 – The HexHounds is a student-led high school robotics team from Cedarburg High School in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Since our founding in 2010, we’ve proudly competed in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) — designing, building, and programming industrial-sized robots to take on high-intensity challenges each season.

Built by Students. Backed by Industry.

Mentors and Students
Mentors and Students
But we’re more than just a robotics team. We’re a tight-knit community of innovators, problem solvers, and future leaders, united by a shared passion for STEM and driven by the values of creativity, collaboration, and inclusion.

The HexHounds are proudly student-led, with dedicated sub-teams for mechanical, design/CAD, control systems & programming, and business/marketing. Each student has the opportunity to take ownership of real-world projects — learning to lead, communicate, and innovate in a team setting.

We’re guided by a group of experienced mentors from a wide range of industries, including robotics, manufacturing, plastics, engine design, electronics, and business leadership. Our mentors include business owners, engineers, educators, and industry professionals who are passionate about giving back and helping students succeed.

Why We Do It

As proud representatives of Cedarburg, we’re deeply involved in outreach throughout the year — hosting local events, mentoring younger robotics teams, participating in STEM nights, and sharing our love for engineering with students of all ages.

Whether we’re competing on the regional stage or presenting at a local elementary school, we believe in using robotics as a platform for positive impact and inspiration.
